SILVIA BASSO

Born in Mendoza, Argentina, she began her studies in 1997, together with her Master Ángel Gil, staying in his studio for five years, and today she considers herself self-taught in her painting.

The artist has participated in more than fifty individual and collective exhibitions, being selected in October 2005 for the “Mega Contemporary Art Exhibition” in Madrid, Spain.

In December 2005 and October 2006, he carried out two individual exhibitions at the “Mediadvance Art Gallery” Asturias, Spain.

In November 2008, she was invited to Miami, United States, exhibited at Galería Chialma, 13 large-format oil paintings, the show was titled “The Way From Inside”

In December 2013 she was invited to the Art Experience Tour, Punta del Este, Uruguay, and in October 2014, she participated in the great art fair, “El Carrusel del Louvre”, Louvre Museum, Paris.

In October 2015, she was invited by the Concatel company to participate in the “Art, Gastronomy and Technology” exhibition at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Real Madrid, Spain.

In March 2018, she participated in the Art on Paper fair, together with Galería Imaginario, in New York, United States.

Her works are in private collections in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Brazil, Australia, Spain, France, Ireland, USA and Brazil.

She is in love with strong, dense and content-filled matter. She admires both Chagall and Pérez Celis and along the way, while affirming her artistic personality, she has given Mendoza prestige with her work.

Silvia’s path is a constant inner journey. She proposes that we see ourselves critically in order to improve ourselves, and she does so with a language that uses gestures, spontaneity and a syncopated rhythm, which seduces us at first sight and leaves us in a contemplative state.

In her work there is no leading space, but everything has the same value and each part, precisely, is a function of the whole. For this reason, the protagonist is the painting itself, to which he entrusts himself and surrenders himself as if it were a magical element, which will allow him a good fish in the stormy waters of the subconscious. Thus achieving surfaces that express her intense emotions: those of a sincere, noble artist, who always seeks the roots, the origin and the meaning of life. “
